Update 10/23/24

Hello!

This is my first update post ever so bear with me. I want to make a post and introduce myself! My name is Darian Lucian Rius but most folks call me DL. My business is called DL Tattoos and I work out of a shop near Seattle in Renton Washington called The Devil on 3rd.

My preferred styles to tattoo are neotraditional and illustrative Black and grey tattoos. What are neotraditional and illustrative tattoo styles you may ask?

Well, the neotraditional tattoo style is probably more well known and can be identified by having a variety of line weights and a mixture of realistic and exaggerated features in them with an emphasis on flow. Have you seen a tattoo with a crazy looking skull or animal that was exaggerated but still looked somewhat realistic? Chances are that was a neotraditional style tattoo!

Illustrative style tattoos are very similar to neotraditional style tattoos, but the term is even broader. Basically when something is an “illustrative style tattoo” it just means that it looks like it was drawn by a person (or illustrated) as opposed to looking like a photograph or a sticker. The illustrative style is very open to interpretation and can include realistic elements as well as stylized elements. As with all works of art, it is all in the eye of the beholder!
